In my five years at WeTransfer I designed for multiple parts of the business while it grew from start up to scale up.

After acquiring Paper and Paste from FiftyThree in 2018, WeTransfer evolved into a set of creative tools. I led the direction for the brand language towards this change, defining core brand elements, product identities and guidelines while leading a team of 3 in-house designers and external design experts.

We started with a core shape based on our brand story; a oval shape representing the ‘ideas’ moving between our products, from initial sketch to transfer. Heavily inspired by Ellsworth Kelly's abstract shapes, and the interplay between fluidity and rigidity.

We worked together with industry experts to refine brand elements. Grilli Type and Dalton Maag for our typography, and Mackey Saturday for our app icons.

With an abstract UI toolkit we created a unified language for our products that distills the essence of the product in a simplified way for marketing purpose. We translated this to the website, paid ads and other marketing channels.
